We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Shop Manager to oversee daily operations of our industrial and automotive service facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, leadership skills, and hands-on experience with heavy equipment, tools, and maintenance procedures. This role involves managing staff, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment to deliver exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily shop operations, including scheduling and coordinating work activities
Oversee maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations to maintain a safe workplace
Manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies necessary for repairs and maintenance
Provide technical guidance on mechanical issues, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting
Lead a team of technicians and mechanics, providing training and performance evaluations
Maintain quality control standards for all repairs and services performed
Coordinate with clients to understand service needs and ensure customer satisfaction
Oversee the operation of industrial equipment and ensure proper use of power tools and hand tools
Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity
Qualifications
Proven experience in dealership or automotive repair environments preferred
Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
Strong mechanical skills with experience in welding, electrical systems, HVAC, and general maintenance
Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for diagnostics and repairs
Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, assembly processes, and industrial equipment
Mechanical or automotive repair background with familiarity in automotive systems is highly desirable
Leadership skills with previous supervisory or management experience in a shop setting
Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients and team members
Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining records and managing workflows
