Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all transportation regulations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage various aspects of shipping and receiving operations.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a truck to transport goods to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Manage shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading cargo. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including data entry into transportation management systems. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise. Analyze routes for efficiency and make adjustments as necessary to optimize delivery times. Utilize supply chain management principles to ensure timely delivery of products. Demonstrate phone etiquette when interacting with clients or vendors regarding shipping inquiries. Familiarize yourself with 3PL (third-party logistics) processes as needed. Use SyteLine or similar software for tracking shipments and managing inventory.

Skills

Proven experience in shipping and receiving operations. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with team members and clients. Proficient in data entry with attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping. Familiarity with transportation management systems is preferred. Ability to analyze routes and make informed decisions based on traffic patterns and delivery schedules. Knowledge of supply chain processes is a plus. Excellent phone etiquette for professional communication with clients and vendors. Basic typing skills for documentation purposes.
