What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do

As the Bulk Truck Driver, you will deliver bulk explosives to the blast hole using advanced delivery systems. You will be responsible for receiving regular restocking of products from the company plant, into storage vessels located at job site. Other duties will include:

• Communicate daily with Dyno Nobel Blast Crew to ensure that everyone understands what is required to do the job safely and efficiently.
• Ensure that any equipment to be used is in good operating condition.
• Deliver bulk explosives to the blast hole using advanced delivery systems mounted on a 13 MT bulk delivery truck.
• Receive regular restocking of products from the company plant, into storage vessels located at job site.
• Ensure that all regulations, both federally (TDG, Explosives Act, Bulk Regulations, WHIMIS) and provincially (Blasting Safety and OH&S Regulations) are adhered to within the operation in regards to personnel workings, product storage, and product transportation.
• Ensure the proper quantities are made available for each delivery.
• Ensure the quality of products delivered through regular calibrations and sampling of products delivered at the job site.
• A mechanically inclined individual capable of performing minor repairs to truck and operating equipment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory of all products (explosive and non explosive).
• Ensuring that company policies, safe work practices, hazard analysis, and standard operating procedures are followed and participate in regular reviews of these processes.
• Periodically perform some blast site duties under the supervision of the blaster.

What We\xe2\x80\x99re Looking For:

• Completion of high school (Grade 12) preferred
• Previous experience in the blasting or mining industry preferred, but not required.
• Mechanical inclination with an interest to learn routine maintenance tasks around shop and on mobile equipment
• Basic computer skills and an ability to communicate effectively
• A positive professional and courteous attitude is an asset when dealing with co-workers and customers on a daily basis.
• Good physical condition is required with the potential of lifting up to 25 kilograms.
• A class 3 or higher driver\xe2\x80\x99s license required
• Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement. Ability to speak and write in French would be an asset.
