Specialists in wood roof trusses, floor joist, and engineered products for residential, commercial, and agriculture construction projects, Island Structural Systems Inc. is looking for a dynamic person to fill the position of Truck Driver.Roles and Responsibilities:- Safe delivery of roof trusses and floor joist to construction sites on PEI, loading and unload trailers, washing trucks and trailer, and doing general maintenance.- Check accuracy and stability of truck load- Ability to deliver oversize loads (width, length, and / or height)- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and other documentation required- Communicate vehicle mechanical problems to supervisor immediately- Operate vehicle types with both automatic and standard transmission- Ensure scheduled preventive maintenance is carried out on truck and trailer and maintain accurate records of services performed- Represent the company in a professional, positive, and pleasant manner- Follows all regulations, company policies, and procedures- Accepts other duties as assigned by the SupervisorRequirements:- Valid drivers license Class 3 with air with no major violations over the last three (3) years- Ability to work steadily in a fast-paced environment. multi-task, and meet deadlines- Able to do physical work- Able to work outside in variable weather conditions and temperatures- Ability to work in a team environment- Safety mindset, follows procedures and demonstrates safe work behaviors- Organized and pays high attention to detail- Positive attitude and communication with colleagues, customers, and suppliers- Punctual, reliable, determined, and willing to learn- Experience using tape measure, hammer, and power tools is asset- Experience in operating a forklift is an asset- Experience in maintenance is an asset- Flexibility in work schedule (some early mornings and late evenings)ISSI is a growing company that can provide a dynamic, secure work environment with opportunities for training and professional development.
