Job Title: Class 1 Truck Driver Reports to: Logistics Supervisor Job Summary: Spark\'s Eggs Trucking Division (2009131 Alberta Company Limited) is in search of a fulltime experienced Class 1Truck Driver who will be responsible to pick up and deliver eggs and egg supplies from and to farmers and retail stores within and outside Calgary and occasionally outside Alberta. Work schedule is flexible and dependent on orders received.
Responsibilities

• Drive a tractor trailer unit to pick up eggs from producers in a timely and safe manner.

• Complete paperwork (farm slips) and ensure amount of product picked up from each location is correct.

• Oversee all functions of the vehicle to ensure it is in good condition before setting out, reporting any maintenance/operating problems.

• Load and offload products from vehicle; and secure products to ensure safety.

• Observing all safety, traffic, and criminal laws and regulations while operating a company vehicle

• Maintaining standards of professionalism, both in appearance and interactions with customers (external and internal) and the public in general.

• Follow the established HACCP (Food Safety), bio-security, and health and safety procedures.

• Ensuring all food, vehicle and human safety issues are communicated with plant Transportation Supervisor.

• Able to read, write, and speak English and basic math skills. Grade 12 education would be preferred.

• Class 1 license with air brake endorsement. License must be current and driving record must be acceptable.

• Must be skilled at backing up and manoeuvring 35 foot \xe2\x80\x93 53 foot tandem axle trailers into difficult and constricted areas.

• Equipment Operator\xe2\x80\x99s Certification to operate or prior forklift and/or pallet jack experience would be an asset.

• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

• Drivers must have a minimum five years of Class 1 city and highway/mountain driving experience

• Previous warehouse experience would be an asset.

• Should have own transportation

• Good interpersonal , problem solving and communication skills

• This position may require early morning start times and long shifts
