We are seeking a dedicated and skilled

Truck Driver

to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations using open flatbed trailers. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle freight with care. The Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the integrity of the cargo.

Responsibilities

Operate open flatbed trucks to transport goods over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Secure loads properly using chains, straps, tarps, and other equipment specific to flatbed operations. Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of cargo to prevent damage. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery schedules. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes, delays, or issues encountered during transport. Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to safety and compliance. Assist with basic automotive repair tasks as needed to ensure vehicle readiness. Operate forklifts and heavy equipment when necessary for loading and unloading operations.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial truck driving is required.

Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL). Prior experience operating open flatbed trailers is highly preferred. Familiarity with freight handling and logistics operations is preferred. Experience in automotive repair is a plus, enhancing vehicle maintenance capabilities.

Skills

Skills in operating forklifts and heavy equipment will be advantageous for this role. A strong understanding of safety protocols related to transportation and freight handling is essential. Proficiency in load securing techniques specific to open flatbed transport.
