Summit Plowing Inc. is a locally owned and operated business that has been serving the Ottawa area for over 25 years. Summit specializes in aggregate deliveries and construction rental throughout the Ottawa area. We take pride in our fleet of well-maintained trucks and are passionate about the dump trucking Industry.

Tri-Axle Candidates are required to have a valid D-Z Ontario driver's license with a minimum of 2-3 years of dump truck driving experience or relatable driving experience, clean driver's abstract, general knowledge of on-site construction operation and construction safety.

Responsibilities include proper pre-trip inspections, obeying the speed limit/following "the rules of the road," committed to working long hours, ability to report problems (foresee issues), keeping a neat and tidy truck interior, refueling vehicle at the end of the day/shift, committed to safety, avoiding dangerous or damaging situations, driving cautiously in rough on-site or road conditions, working independently, and proper communication in team-based scenarios.

This Job is a day position Monday-Friday with the possibilities of weekend and/or night work in exceedingly rare scenarios.

All Trucks are Standards

$30.00 - $35.00 an hour, pay based on experience and performance.

Job Summary



We are seeking a reliable and skilled Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials to and from job sites safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, excellent driving skills, and the ability to adhere to safety regulations. The Dump Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed on time while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.

Responsibilities



Operate dump trucks to transport materials such as dirt, gravel, and construction debris to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition. Load and unload materials safely, ensuring proper weight distribution for safe transport. Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving on public roads and job sites. Communicate effectively with site managers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and material needs. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including quantities transported and any issues encountered during transit. Assist with basic maintenance tasks on the truck, including checking fluid levels and performing minor repairs as needed.

Skills



Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with dump trucks or similar heavy vehicles. Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations related to transportation. Proficiency in heavy equipment operation. Basic automotive repair skills to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues that may arise during operation. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members on-site. Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety protocols at all times.
