Nurse Practitioner (NP)
to join our dynamic healthcare team in
Halifax, Nova Scotia

relocating or temporarily living in Halifax during the assignment

As an NP, you will deliver comprehensive patient care, including diagnosing and treating medical conditions, conducting physical exams, prescribing medications, and developing individualized care plans. You will work autonomously within your legislated scope of practice and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
The Nurse Practitioner will play a critical role in supporting patients by working in close partnership with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to facilitate patient transitions back to their homes or communities. You will help ensure continuity of care and provide the necessary support to empower patients in their recovery process.
As a member of the healthcare team, the Nurse Practitioner will adhere to the NSCN Standards for Nursing Practice and the Code of Ethics, maintaining accountability and high standards of professional practice. You will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
Successful completion of a Master's degree in Nursing with Clinical Nurse Practitioner Certification.
Licensing:
Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) as a Nurse Practitioner in good standing.
Experience (Asset):
Previous experience supporting the admission and discharge processes for vulnerable populations with complex social situations. Familiarity with implementing care plans and identifying community resources to support smooth patient transitions.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Skilled in managing complex patient cases, especially those with diverse social and health challenges.
