Tourism Jasper is the official marketing organization of Jasper and Jasper National Park, Canada's base of adventure. As the keepers of the Jasper brand, our role is to present Jasper as it really is an awe-inspiring and authentic Rocky Mountain destination entry point of Canada's most epic adventures. It is from this point that the greatest personal expeditions begin; where explorers and wanderers from around the world collect to enjoy the activities, accommodations, restaurants, and business of the town of Jasper, before taking on the real Canadian Rockies of Jasper National Park.
Primary Responsibilities
Connect with visitors to plan their stay and create memorable experiences in Jasper
Promote accommodations, attractions, and experiences throughout Jasper to encourage visitors to venture beyond
Distribute information, promotional materials, and travel essentials
Provide exceptional consumer service and engage with each visitor who approaches the Visitor Experience Centre
Assist visitors with booking various activities or excursions
Connect with visitors through multi-channels such as in-person communications, answering the telephone, and responding to email inquiries in a timely manner
Complete administrative tasks such as collecting and entering visitor statistics as well as preparing vacancy and business referral reports
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with some post-secondary education in tourism, hospitality, customer and sales experience and/or related field
Knowledge of a second language is an asset but not a requirement
Computer skills (including Microsoft Office) are essential
Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities
Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Values teamwork and promoting a cooperative, productive atmosphere among peers.
Able to maintain a professional appearance
Highly responsible & reliable with a dynamic personality
Preference will be given to candidates available for full-time work
Physical aspects of the position (Include but are not limited to):
Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 7 lbs.
Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps
This position is based in Jasper, Alberta.
Salary
: $19/hour
Hours of work:
24-40 hours per week (part-time or full-time)
Please note:
This position is for summer employment term opportunities. Weekend and Statutory Holiday work is required. Employees are required to source and secure their own accommodation for the duration of employment. There are no employer sponsored accommodation provided.
