Job Description

The Travel Agent Next Door is Canada's largest host agency supporting the retail travel industry, specializing in the home-based travel agent, medium to small size agencies, and agencies that would like to start their own home-based business.



The Travel Agent Next Door provides support to travel agents including marketing, websites, social media, and access to a broad range of programs and tools and host events across Canada. The company has a head office in downtown Toronto and a branch office in Vancouver, with over 1,600 home-based agents across Canada.





We are looking for an operations professional to manage the coordination of travel agent's account set up after joining The Travel Agent Next Door. The role is responsible for organizing and facilitating the travel agent's initial introduction and set up with our company, which includes coordinating between departments and external suppliers, and being the main point of contact for travel agents during the Onboarding process.

Our ideal Travel Agent Coordinator is extremely detail oriented, task driven, with superior time management skills with a friendly, outgoing attitude. As they will be responsible for working to onboard 5+ travel agents per week and managing an onboarding task list over 40+ items per travel agent. This is role is best suited for those with 3-5 years experience working in client success/onboarding, project management or operations position, with experience within the travel industry.

Role responsibilities:



Main point of contact for travel agents who have newly joined The Travel Agent Next Door, responding to queries and phone calls in a short turn around time

Completing travel agents set up within our company within a 2-3 week time frame, including coordinating provincial licensing, email set up, invoice system set up, and more

Processing changes to existing travel agent's business information, such as address updates, rebranding their business, and increases to commission amounts.

Manage month end duties, including updates with provincial regulatory bodies such as TICO, and CPBC, agent contract closure, audits and more.

Other department related duties as required

Our Ideal Travel Agent Coordinator will have:



The ability to multi-task and organize time effectively to complete agent set up tasks

Strong customer service skills, having a confident and friendly approach.

Strong presentation skills for introductory calls held with travel agents

Ability to act with a sense of urgency

Superior written and oral communication skills (English)

Highly organized and dependable

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)

A passion for travel and tourism

Education:



- Diploma or degree in Travel & Tourism or Business Administration is an asset

- 3-5 years experience working in client success/onboarding, project management or operations position, with experience within the travel industry.

- Currently remote in Toronto, ON M5J 1R7 (subject to change)

- Candidate must be able to reliably commute
