Plett Trucking is currently looking to fill the position of Transportation/Operations Manager. Plett Trucking has been in business since 1968 and is primarily a full truck load reefer carrier servicing Ontario, western Canada and southeastern USA. This is a full-time, permanent position that reports to senior management. The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following responsibilities and tasks: - To ensure that all customer requirements, from an on-time delivery standpoint, are met - To ensure that communication flows well between planners, driver management and drivers - To actively resolve any job-related issues as they arise - To work directly with customers to manage their issues and concerns regarding orders - To oversee dispatch - To manage daily operations Skills, Abilities and Experience - The ability to effectively manage competing priorities and to maintain results - The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external contacts, customers, clients and outside industry contacts - A strong knowledge of North American trucking regulations and geography - A strong understanding of dispatch operations in the transportation industry - The ability to perform any other reasonable duties as assigned or directed by senior management as necessary to ensure continued success - This position requires at least 3-5 years of related experience - Experience in asset planning The position is Monday to Friday with some weekend availability - Salary will be negotiated We look forward to you joining our team!
