Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking a

Transportation Technician

to work out of our millsite in the county of

Athabasca, Alberta

. The successful candidate is responsible for the effective

coordination

of a fleet of drivers and vehicles for our Woodlands Transportation group. Thisposition provides operational support services and acts as first-line supervisor of the Woodlands Transportation, Operations and Logistics areas

.

This role is a

casual

opportunity requiring availability for days, nights, weekends and on call work at an as-needed frequency.

Role Responsibilities:

Supervision and compliance monitoring of all deliveries. Dispatching trucks and coordinating log haul schedules using computer-based applications. Monitoring safety compliance. Enforcement of Woodlands Log Haul Policies and procedures and applicable transportation regulations. Assist in Emergency Response for Woodlands activities. Administrative duties and data entry. Liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders for transportation related activities.

Role Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. 1+ years of dispatching, transportation, or similar experience an asset Knowledgeable in the transportation industry an asset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong technical skills with computers, including but not limited to the Microsoft Suite (excel, word, etc) and ability to adapt to new systems. Self-motivated individual who works well in a team environment and with multiple stakeholders, at times under pressure. Strong multitasking skills, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
