Business Development Manager with a focus on Flatbed Sales
to join ourBagpiper Sales team. This role is responsible for:
Generating leads through cold calling, networking and referrals
Exceed all standards for prospecting calls, presentations, proposals and closes
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction maintaining close contact with all customers--including follow up on concerns or other issues
Negotiate contracts and rate agreements
Provide documented activity reports of your sales efforts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Build trust-based relationships with prospects and convert them into long-term customers
Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients to drive sales growth.
Conduct negotiations with clients to secure favorable terms and close deals.
Maintain knowledge of industry trends, freight logistics, and supply chain processes to enhance sales effectiveness.
Participate in sales management activities, including forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis.
What you need to be successful in the role:
Minimum 3 years of B2B sales experience in North American transportation (brokerage and/or asset-based)
Familiarity with freight logistics, supply chain operations, and 3PL services is highly desirable.
Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful deal closures.
Proficiency in data entry and using CRM systems for effective customer management.
Experience with AS400 or similar software is a plus.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients quickly.
