Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Intermediate Transportation Designer to join the Infrastructure group in our Highways & Bridges team in the Mississauga, ON location and have the opportunity to work on various infrastructure projects involving civil disciplines.

As the successful candidate, you will be:

• Preparing conceptual and detailed design drawings for traffic management plans, traffic control and signage drawings using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
• Understanding and applying guidelines from the Ontario Traffic Manual on various traffic related design drawings.
• Coordination with other designers and technologists of other disciplines to produce design deliverables.
• Preparing design submissions and other technical documents.
• Conducting site visits for the purposes of observing and documenting field conditions.
• Assisting senior engineers and designers to develop conceptual and functional level designs, traffic operations and safety reviews, inventories and audits of urban and rural roads.

You bring to the role:

• Civil Technology Diploma from an accredited Civil Engineering Technology or related program.
• 5 - 7 years related experience.
• Software proficiency with Civil 3D, Inroads/OpenRoads, MicroStation, AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge in Ontario Traffic Manual.
• Knowledge of municipal and transit agency CAD standards and drawing procedures.
• Experience with infrastructure projects an asset.
• Working knowledge of databases considered an asset.
• High energy, positive team attitude.
• Capable of completing design tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Strong communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible and open to feedback to accommodate changing project and deliverable needs.
• C.E.T. Certification is an asset.
