About the Opportunity

The Department of Medicine, Dalhousie University / Nova Scotia Health, seeks applications for a Transplant Hepatologist in the Division of Digestive Care and Endoscopy at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, Nova Scotia. This position is available as of July 1, 2024.

The Division of Digestive Care and Endoscopy is one of 15 divisions within the Department of Medicine and is a leader of tertiary clinical services in the Atlantic Provinces. In addition to playing an important clinical role in the Department, division members have excellent opportunities for collaborative educational and research activities to facilitate rewarding and fulfilling career development.

Responsibilities

It is expected that the successful candidate will provide specialty clinics in the Atlantic Multi-Organ Transplant Program, and participate in teaching in the setting of clinical teaching units. Supervisory experience, including leadership, team-building, and delegation is an advantage. The successful candidate will also participate in provision of the general gastroenterology service at the QE2 Hospital, including coverage of GI consultation, GI call and endoscopy.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold FRCPC (or equivalent) certification in Internal Medicine and subspecialty certification in Gastroenterology. Experience and/or additional training in transplant hepatology is required. Candidates must be eligible for specialty licensure in Nova Scotia.

Compensation & Application

An attractive remuneration and benefits package through an alternative funding plan will apply. Academic appointment ranking will be based on qualifications and experience.
