This role will support the Canadian team by providing French translation services and internal communications coordination and support in connection with the North America Public Affairs team. The role will ensure materials meet Canadian French language regulations and reflect the company\xe2\x80\x99s voice and identity. This role will also handle coordinating and proofing of select translation projects with an approved external vendor and posting and monitoring content on internal employee communications channels. Specific translation duties include executing and coordinating assignments through consulting with internal partners on their translation requests and terminology, maintaining a French language terminology database, and working with approved vendors as needed. Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver timely and accurate translations, revisions, proofing, and interpretations on a wide range of critical company materials with emphasis on corporate communications, HR content, and priority business documents
  • Ensure that final French translations clearly and accurately reflect the original English text and company voice for the target audience, and that document layouts/formatting are aligned with English materials
  • Well organized, you successfully work with minimal supervision to achieve set deadlines and priorities
  • Perform quality assurance of own work and work from translation partners (if required), offering interpretation suggestions as needed based on company style, grammar, tone, and overall effectiveness of the communication
  • Ensure communications comply with Canadian French language regulations
  • Provide translation advice and assistance to colleagues and external translation partners
  • Conduct subject matter research to ensure translation is accurate and terminology is consistent with internal and industry-based materials
  • Coordinate assigned translation projects with cross-functional requesters to ensure final delivery, including recommendations on timelines and terminology to best meet request needs
  • Support the development of internal communications that are pertinent to the Canadian employee base
  • Manage and execute content postings on internal communication channels and platforms in English and French
Qualifications
  • Fluent in French (Canada) and English, written and spoken, with understanding of Quebecois culture and language
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or College Diploma in language arts, translation/linguistics, or related field
  • Experience with Office Qu\xc3\xa9b\xc3\xa9cois de la langue fran\xc3\xa7aise standards
  • 3+ years of professional French language translation creation and management experience
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft O365 collaboration tools (Teams, Yammer, SharePoint, Stream)
  • Experience using marketing-based email tools (e.g. MailChimp, IBM SilverPop/Watson) and online video content systems (e.g Vimeo, YouTube)
  • Basic experience maintaining and updating SharePoint-based intranet applications
  • Excellent written skills with attention to detail
  • Capable of communicating with employees across all levels of the organization
