The Canadian Mental Health Association - Toronto Branch (CMHA Toronto) is seeking a

Transitional Housing Worker

for our congregate housing site near Lawrence Ave West and Weston Rd. This position is part of our Housing Services program and will provide on-site residential support to individuals living with mental illness, who are experiencing homelessness, and who have been involved with the criminal justice system.

Salary:

$54,124 - $59,147

Hours:

35 per week (Monday to Friday, varied schedule)

Responsibilities

Provide direct support to residents including social recreational programming, conflict resolution, crisis prevention and intervention Conducting monthly unit inspections at the sites Foster a sense of community and promote social inclusion among residents Advocate for housing stability and help residents understand their rights under the Residential Tenancies Act Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment by conducting unit inspections and facilitating tenant meetings Serve as an Agent of the Landlord, supporting lease compliance and housing policies Build strong connections with community services and liaise with support staff Maintain accurate records of daily interactions, client notes, reports, and program documentation

Skills You Bring

Post Secondary Degree/Diploma in Social Work, Social Sciences or a related field Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals facing mental health challenges (residential experience an asset) Familiarity with supportive housing, the Residential Tenancies Act, and the Ontario Housing Tribunal Experience with the criminal justice system, concurrent disorders, and homelessness Strong crisis intervention, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills Demonstrated commitment to anti-oppression, anti-racism, and non-homophobic approaches Experience working with diverse communities
