Transdev Canada is hiring a Safety & Training Officer for our Regina, SK location.Transdev is seeking a dedicated and experienced Training & Safety Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and training of our bus operators, fostering a culture of safety, and maintaining high standards of operational excellence. You will be responsible for investigating accidents, overseeing training programs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.Your Role:

• Ensure successful safety and training of bus operators.
• Investigate and report on all vehicle collisions and on-the-job injuries.
• Schedule and conduct safety meetings, refresher training, and additional coursework as needed for operators.
• Maintain accurate training files for all personnel, including training, licensing, and performance information.
• Gather, compile, and report safety, accident, and worker\xe2\x80\x99s compensation statistics.
• Oversee personnel-related functions, including recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and discipline of staff dedicated to the service.
• Perform classroom components of training and some behind-the-wheel (BTW) training.
• Enhance and consolidate paratransit training material into one cohesive document for drivers.

Training:

• Develop, audit, and maintain training materials and records.
• Ensure the client\'s requirements are integrated into and met by the Transdev training program.
• Conduct training for new hires, remediation, and refresher courses.
• Engage with operators through follow-up, ride-checks, and ongoing support.
• Lead and uphold standards for trainers, providing guidance and follow-up.

Health & Safety:

• Manage injury and claims processes.
• Conduct investigations, inspections, and audits.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Engage with clients, union representatives, and employees through ride-alongs, communications, and safety campaigns.

*And all other duties as assigned by the General Manager.Your Profile:

• 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
• Valid Class 4 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license (Must be willing to obtain Class 4 license within 3 months of hire if not in posession).
• Gold Training Certification (Certified Canadian Safety Professional or equivalent).
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills within known guidelines.
• Demonstrated experience with relevant Occupational Health & Safety legislation and requirements.
• Proficient in developing and maintaining training programs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Location:

• This is an on-site position in Regina, SK.
• Salaried employee, averaging 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
• Weekend work as required, typically for training or incident-based activities.
