The Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and maintaining all required organizational training to ensure compliance with regulatory and sector standards. This position plays a key role in supporting workforce development across the organization by designing, updating, and facilitating training programs that enhance employee skills, orientation, and ongoing competency. The Training Coordinator will collaborate closely with managers, HR Advisors, and employees to monitor completion rates, identify training gaps, and ensure that both new and existing employees receive timely, relevant, and high-quality training opportunities. This role also supports small and remote communities by providing accessible and consistent training materials to strengthen service delivery.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Training Coordination & Compliance
Maintain a comprehensive training matrix of all mandatory and role-specific training requirements.
Track employee training completion and follow up with employees and managers regarding outstanding training.
Ensure compliance with sector, legislative, and internal training requirements.
Develop and distribute regular reports on training compliance and completion trends to management and HR.
Curriculum Development & Delivery
Design, update, and maintain training materials, including manuals, PowerPoints, videos, and e-learning modules.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training content remains current and relevant.
Support onboarding and orientation of new employees by ensuring they have access to required training and materials.
Deliver or coordinate in-person and virtual training sessions as needed.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Liaise with HR Advisors, managers, and employees to identify training needs and gaps.
Support managers in developing individualized training plans for employees requiring additional skill development.
Partner with the Senior Health & Safety Advisor on safety-related training and certification programs.
Reporting & Data Management
Use HRIS, LMS, or other tracking systems to maintain accurate records of training activities.
Generate and analyze reports to identify compliance trends, upcoming training renewals, and areas for improvement.
Recommend process improvements to enhance training tracking and delivery efficiency.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Diploma or certificate in Human Resources, Education, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
Minimum of 1-2 years' experience coordinating or delivering training programs, preferably in a unionized or public sector environment.
Experience with data tracking, reporting, and learning management systems (LMS).
Experience in developing and maintaining training materials and e-learning content.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong organizational and project coordination skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, video editing tools, and e-learning or presentation software.
Ability to analyze data and prepare clear, actionable reports.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and build effective relationships across departments.
Other Information
Occasional travel to organizational sites may be required.
A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation may be required.
May be required to attend training sessions outside of regular business hours.
