This position is an integral part of the HSE & Operations teams with a strong focus on safety while being responsible for providing field HSE and compliance support, hands on operations training, documentation & skill audits, with the goal of minimizing health and safety risk, improving overall operator competency, and enforcement of company standards and compliance. This is a hybrid position that will involve traveling within Alberta and Saskatchewan to customer sites for the purpose of mentoring, on-site training, while building strong working relationships with operators and field customers.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the onboarding of new hires and conducting safety orientations
Train new employees on company expectations regarding the safe operation of our equipment (vac trucks, water trucks, semi-vac trucks, end dumps, and hydro-vac). This will include training operators on maintaining the equipment and our expectations regarding maintenance, paperwork, operation, and unit cleanliness.
Determine employees driving abilities and competency. Conduct employee driver assessments and communicate a development plan if required
Develop, enforce, and coordinate safety training programs such as load securement, pre/post trip inspections, hours of service, pre-job hazard assessments and any other safety documentation or campaigns deemed necessary by the reporting manager.
Create, implement, and amend safety training material within our safety management system
Creating of safety bulletins and campaigns
Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of new training/safety documentations and procedures
You will be required to assist with kicking off new projects and training new employees on Movac procedures and customer expectations. Ensure training is professional and documented.
The trainer will spend time in the field with new operators verifying competencies and providing training on our equipment and safety procedures.
Administrator to our safety management systems

Facilitate and participate in safety meetings
Understand our processes, policies and practices to make informed decisions - based on safety, service, and productivity standards
Promotion of safety management throughout all levels and activities within the organization
Maintain and participate in company training and professional development
Complete job responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner and contribute in a positive, professional way to achieving Movac's goals
Assist in audits, field inspections, and corrective action initiatives. Conducting regular audits to ensure compliance and develop corrective plans to address deficiencies
Any other duties and after-hours availability as required by the Manager
Experience and Competencies
Minimum of 5-10 years of direct experience operating water, vacuum and semi-vac units in the Oil & Gas Industry
Class 1 Drivers Licence
Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to evaluate, train, and manage teams
Strong and professional communication skills - both internal & external
A passion for safety and a record of safe practices in the workplace. A motivated individual with an uncompromising commitment to safety
Skills in Excel, Power Point, and Word programs is essential
Process driven individual, who excels at executing tasks from conception through to completion.
High level of attention to detail, with impeccable organizational abilities
Works well in both team-orientated and self-directed environments
Safety certification and training will be required. This is a safety sensitive positions.
Ability to travel to and from site as directed by the Manager
