The Training and Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for identifying training gaps and developing internal training programs and tools, as well as managing third-party training courses. They will also support other HR functions including managing assigned special projects, consulting on employee relations and supporting assigned committees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates, develops, delivers and manages internal training programs including seminars, tools and manuals;
Collaborates with interdisciplinary staff groups to identify training needs and opportunities;
Schedules and organizes staff training sessions, including outsourced training providers, by identifying participants, booking appropriate training space, etc.
Selects appropriate training methods or activities (e.g. simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training) creating a maximally inclusive learning environment for all participants;
Gathers, reviews and acts on feedback received from trainees and third-party trainers;
Markets available training both internally and externally, and provides necessary information about sessions;
Maintains all staff training information in the HR databases.
Coaches supervisors on employee relations matters including performance and conflict management, assisting in the administration of performance improvement notifications, training plans and progress tracking methods;
Oversees project management of assigned HR & training projects;
Acts as co-chair for various committees including but not limited to Workplace Safety & Health;
Facilitates the talent acquisition process for assigned positions including pre-screening candidates, arranging and facilitating interviews, conducting applicable background checks, and negotiating employment offers;
Demonstrates an active commitment towards professional growth and advancement through participation in training, workshops, etc.;
Provides back-up coverage to the Human Resources/Payroll department as required;
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management;
Minimum three years' experience performing a broad range of Human Resource functions including training and development, employee relations and recruitment;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization;
Knowledge of current employment standards, the human rights code and Workplace Safety & Health legislation;
Experience with human resource databases and HRIS systems is essential;
Experience in the planning and coordination of workshops, conferences and seminars in a workplace setting;
Ability to work in a computerized work setting with superior working knowledge of MS Office applications;
Demonstrated discretion with highly confidential information;
Superior organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining a keen sense of accuracy and attention to detail;
Ability to remain calm and professional while under pressure or when faced with difficult situations;
Demonstrated decision-making and problem solving skills.
Valid class 5 driver's license, and access to a reliable vehicle;
Satisfactory Criminal Record and clear Vulnerable Sector checks;
Clear Child Abuse Registry and satisfactory Prior Contact checks.

Salary Range: A8 $23.38 - $28.44
