McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world's largest high-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at McArthur River is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.
The Role
This role is located at our McArthur River operations and will report to the Supervisor, Mine Training.
In this role, you will:

  • be responsible for developing new and updating existing training programs by utilizing Cameco's Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).
  • Consult with key stakeholders to develop this training curriculum and deliver plans to meet the operation's needs.
  • Use adult learning principles to deliver training programs to site employees and contractors.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with all departments and contractors.
  • Determine training requirements and develop and deliver classroom and practical training.
  • Deliver training and conduct evaluations of employee performance.
  • Maintain attendance/enrollment and training records in computer database.
Required:
  • Certificate in Adult Education and/or Train the Trainer certification along with a background in training and development in a mining environment. A combination of relevant training experience, on the job or formal education would be considered.
  • Understanding of Systematic Approach to Training
  • Experience in an industrial mine setting
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively (visual, oral & written)
  • Contribute to the development of instructional materials
  • Strong computer, presentation and communication skills are essential
  • Experience in SAP and Microsoft office applications
Recommended:
  • Previous training and/or peer training/mentoring experience (5-8 years) in Underground Hard Rock Development mining environment
  • Knowledge of mine construction

Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan's North (RSN).
The McArthur River operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
