Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Parking Enforcement, the Traffic Operations Technician is responsible for providing technical support to internal and external clients related to requests and inquiries from Council and the general public; conducting research and preparing written correspondence and reports related to parking enforcement services and programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor to ensure property inspections are undertaken in a timely manner and within prescribed service levels
Coordinate private property enforcement, signage requirements, and issuance of paid parking permits
Attend site visits to review new and ongoing permits
Liaise with Parking Administration to onboard new security companies
Investigate and resolve service requests
Solve technical problems that require specialized knowledge
Monitor the performance of the City\xe2\x80\x99s vehicle, towing and uniform vendors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and participate in the contract procurement process
Attend various management meetings when required as subject matter expert
Part of team assigned to complete projects related to specialized equipment testing, installation and standards review
Review and respond to concerns from staff, residents and elected officials
Prepare correspondence and reports to Committee, Councillors and the general public ensuring all information is accurate and factual
Provide documentation and information in response to claims against the City of Mississauga
Verify all work is completed within applicable legal, engineering standards and policy requirements
Ensure that all recommendations are in accordance with City and industry standards
Perform other related duties as assigned
Shift work/flexible hours may be required
Skills and Qualifications
Must have successfully completed a minimum 3 year Community College program in Transportation/Traffic Engineering Technology or related discipline
C.E.T. designation preferred
A valid class \xe2\x80\x9cG\xe2\x80\x9d driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and excellent driving record are required to access a City vehicle
1 to 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a relevant field
Excellent organization with the ability to manage competing tasks
Strong written, verbal and team communication skill sets
May require lifting of supplies/equipment.
Exposure to computer keyboards and screens
Primarily office environment with site visits
Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 65,753.00 - $ 87,671.00 Hours of Work: 35 Work Location: Mavis North, Enforcemnt/C Stor Department/Division/Section: CPS/Corporate Services Dept , CPS/Enforcement Division , Parking Enforcement Non-Union/Union: Non Union
