Job Description

The Traffic Manager is a key individual responsible for coordinating traffic activities while complying with Company's H&S Standards. Will have the overall responsibility for the planning of all forms of traffic control on the project. The role includes the management of the traffic accommodation equipment and interface with the traffic accommodation contractor

Responsibilities



Manage traffic plans at the beginning of the Project, and then develop, implement and manage the Traffic Management Plan. Monitor, analyze and implement necessary modifications to the Traffic. Ensure the Province is kept informed of all upcoming traffic activities and any revisions to the Traffic Management Plan. Ensure that appropriate modifications are made to the Traffic Management Plan if the specified traffic control measures are not achieving the desired effect. Coordinating with the adjacent work areas, including work being carried out by others. Define and prepare scope of work and review and approve consultant design and studies as related to Traffic Management during Construction: Traffic Impact Studies, Diversions Design, Traffic Control Plans, and Traffic Lights Design. Setting?up schedule for deliveries and following it up regularly according to the budget. Extensive coordination and consultation with other department within the organization (Communication, Construction, Technical Services, Utilities). Consult, coordinate Traffic Control Plans development & implementation with BC third parties, Local Police, Fire Fighting Departments, and Emergency Services. Consult with local Municipalities Stakeholders in matters related to traffic management, safety and impacts on local communities. Present Traffic Management activities and Look ahead during general consultation meetings. Description of required closures, detours, etc for Design & Construction Reports (DCR's). Initial Traffic Management Plan & Sub?plans development and updates. Preparing and submitting Project Agreement Deliverables for review and approval. Managing incidents and emergency situations 24/7 as per the Project. Ensure that the road is kept under all conditions and circumstances in a safe condition. Monitor and keep maintenance costs within budget while respecting the project agreement requirements. Manage winter/snow Maintenance contract and ensure that safety and Level of Service is met. Develop Winter (Snow) Maintenance Plan and other Area Management Maintenance Plans. Analyze deviations needed in each stage of the project to determinate where to circulate the traffic to be able to continue with Project execution. Provide with traffic guidance system any traffic change and coordinate provisional change with appropriate authorities. Manage and optimization of traffic controllers to maximize resources according existing legal normative. Revision of all equipment and traffic materials, including traffic signs and protections, to ensure that meet with current normative. Make the forecast and budget for all traffic related expenses during Project execution. Check in daily basis, including weekends that all traffic signs and materials are in the right place. Manage the delivery of traffic engineering on time and within budget. Ensure that appropriate project technical standards requirements are met. Develop methodologies and appropriate costing to address client requirements. Ensure the health, safety and welfare at work of employees. Notify supervisors or OH&S representative about hazards or other safety matters that may arise.

Experience/Qualifications:



Directly overseeing Traffic Management for complex transportation projects. Managing and coordinating Traffic Management in projects of comparable scope, scale and complexity to the Project. Leading Traffic Management teams on complex transportation projects in a highway and urban environment. 8 to 15 years' experience and technical skills in the field of Traffic Engineering. Certification to undertake Traffic Control at Worksites Planning. Knowledge of Traffic Signal design and operation. Good understanding and knowledge of road design principles, including design for pedestrians and cyclists. Experience with MS Office applications including excellent skills in Word and Excel. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment. Good project management skills and experience. Excellent analytical skills.

Pay: $1.00-$2.00 per year
