Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Traffic Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic around construction sites. This position requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operations and construction site protocols, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both workers and the public.

Duties

Direct and manage traffic flow around construction zones to ensure safety for both workers and the public. Operate various heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, front loader trucks, dump trucks, graders, and paving machinery as needed. Assist in utility locating to ensure that all underground utilities are identified before excavation begins. Collaborate with construction teams to maintain a safe working environment on-site. Monitor site conditions and report any hazards or issues that may impact safety or efficiency. Maintain clear communication with team members regarding traffic patterns and site operations. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols while operating heavy machinery.

Experience

Previous experience in traffic control or a similar role is preferred. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation is essential, including but not limited to dozers, loaders, backhoes, front loader trucks, dump trucks, graders, and paving machinery. Familiarity with construction site practices and utility locating techniques is highly desirable. A background in construction or related fields will be considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Pay: $17.50-$22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 44 per week
