We are currently looking for

experienced Traffic Control Persons (TCPs)

and

Lane Closure Technicians (LCTs)

to support growing operations in

Nanaimo

.

These are

casual/on-call positions

to start -- ideal for individuals seeking

flexible scheduling

with the

potential to grow into steady, long-term, or full-time roles

based on performance, reliability, and project needs.

Key Responsibilities

Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely around construction zones Set up, maintain, and take down lane closures, signage, and barricades Complete daily traffic control and barricade reports Monitor work zones and alert crews of potential safety hazards Apply traffic management plans accurately on-site Train and support new crew members as needed Perform additional duties related to traffic control operations

Qualifications

Valid

BCCSA TCP Certification

(required) Minimum

1 year

of experience as a TCP or LCT

Class 5 BC Driver's License

with clean abstract (required for LCT role*)
Reliable personal transportation to and from job sites Strong communication and problem-solving skills General understanding of road construction and safety procedures Ability to work in outdoor environments and changing weather conditions

Compensation

TCP:

$20 - $25 per hour (including 9.2% vacation/statutory pay and union benefits)

LCT:

$25 - $30 per hour (including 9.2% vacation/statutory pay and union benefits)
Wage will be determined based on experience.
