What is the opportunity?

RBC Investor & Treasury Services has an opportunity available for someone looking to build their foundation for a career in Investment Services. In this role, you will be responsible for working with a dynamic team completing transaction processing functions for Securities Lending Operations. This role is primarily responsible for the support of Securities Lending transactions for loans and returns/recall/sales processes. Close coordination is required with Front Trading Desks, Collateral Management and Settlements team. Other major responsibilities include collection of borrower lending fees, client revenue processing and reconciliation across all platforms and systems. Additionally this desk will support the STIF desk and the Bank of Canada Triparty program.

What will you do?

  • Complete Securities Lending transactions for collateral, loans, returns/recalls/sales, billing, client revenue and reconciliation activities ensuring highest levels of accuracy and timeliness are achieved
  • Ensure department meets all internal/external audit and compliance requirements applying the appropriate rules and guidance to all activity managed within the team
  • Proactively assessing client and business requirements, coordinating appropriate solutions
  • Acting as a change agent, embracing and facilitating change across operational processes and technology enhancements
  • Review processes, procedures and control to ensure they are fit for purpose, look to automate using existing or new technologies where appropriate
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of market practices
  • Effective escalation of issues that may have an adverse effect on the services provided to external clients and internal departments
What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have:
  • Business-related degree or equivalent
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced usage of MS Office Word and Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Macros)
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing time and priorities efficiently without supervision
  • Ability to lead initiatives, implement change and think analytically
Nice-to-Have:
  • Previous experience in Securities Lending and working within tight deadlines
  • Solid understanding of Transaction Management, Settlements and fee billing
  • Operational and Client Service Experience
