THE ROLE



As a Tourist Guide, you greet visitors, conduct guided tours, provide interpretation and assistance to individual clients and groups. You provide animation during school visits and/or any other types of offered learning activities. You distribute information leaflets, responds to inquiries by visitors.



You handle a key position on the field during military ceremonies, does the announcing during the ceremonies and insure that visitors respect all rules on an active military base. you handle particularities with VIP visits and deliver visits when necessary.



The Tourist Guide participate with the implementation of new products and participates to historic costumed animations. You must offer on a daily basis, a high level of customer service determined by the direction, your historical knowledge and develop they aptitude and competencies. You ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed, and responds to fire alarms and other emergencies.



You stock shelves of gift shop, operates electronic cash register or optical reader, calculates exchange rate, receives payment by cash, cheques, credit cards or automatic debits, wrap or place merchandise in bags, produces the daily sales report and reconcile with total sales.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses





High school diploma AND experience in animation or as a guide


Experience





In heritage interpretation or animation



In providing customer service



In preparing and conducting oral or written presentations



In cash handling



In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, email and Internet browsing


Competencies





Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.


Citadelle de Quebec :

Located in Old Quebec, La Citadelle de Quebec is the largest British fortress built in North America. To this day La Citadelle is an active military garrison open all year long for guided tours of the site and the Royal 22e Regiment Museum (site interpretation, permanent and temporary exhibition tours) where you can discover Quebec City's military history with a spectacular view of the city and the St. Lawrence River. La Citadelle is occupied by the Royal 22e Regiment's regular troops. The Citadelle is a National Historic Site in Canada.


PSP:

Keep our Canadian Armed Forces operationally ready and their families and military community healthy as part of the team at Personnel Support Programs. Personnel Support Programs contributes to the operational readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces through the provision of fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs to military communities across Canada and members while on deployment.
