Hiring now for the upcoming 2025 season in both Vancouver and Kelowna!

Fun exciting tour company seeking experienced SVOP/SDVBS (will accept older MED A-3 certificate) boat captain. Our ideal Captain must demonstrate a positive, fun, safety conscious attitude with great communication skills to ensure a high level of customer service someone that can think in their feet. Upcoming Transport Canada training classes may be available in March please reach out to find out more!

Experienced tour guiding and operating boats is a definite asset. We are looking for professional customer-oriented captains and tour bus drivers.

If you also have an unrestricted class 4 drivers license with experience driving a passenger bus would be a definite asset as we also have a small passenger tour bus.

Responsibilities



Operate tour boats with the safety of all passengers as the primary focus, in accordance with Transport Canada regulations.

Conduct pre trip inspections of vessel

Conduct pre trip safety briefing for all passengers

Maintain mechanical & trip logs

Provide animated interactive interactions with guests

Assist as needed to ensure all passengers have the very best possible guest experience

Able to work a flexible schedule and are available to work weekends, evenings and holidays

Qualifications



High attention to detail and good communication skills

Strong customer service skills

Provide a criminal record check

Mandatory training requirements



SVOP -Small vessel operator proficiency or higher

SDVBS - Small domestic vessel basic safety (previously MED A-3)

ROC-M - Restricted Operator Certificate - Maritime

First Aid / CPR

- Operate and navigate boats in various water conditions

- Ensure the safety of passengers and crew members on board

- Follow all maritime regulations and guidelines

- Maintain and inspect boat equipment and systems

- Provide excellent customer service to passengers

- Communicate effectively with passengers and crew members

- Handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently

```Experience```

- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Boat Captain

- Proficient in rigging and handling boats of various sizes

- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve any equipment issues

- Excellent navigational skills and knowledge of local waterways

- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
