Tasks:

Experience installing 2-ply systems, coverboard, insulation, slope packages and other components applicable to SBS systems Install, repair or replace built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel Strong understanding of a variety of roofing systems Measuring and calculating the materials needed for the roofing project Removing old or damaged roofing material from existing roof Applying sealants or adhesives as necessary to enhance water resistance Install, repair, or replace roofing systems using waterproof materials Measuring and calculating the materials needed for the roofing project

Conventional and inverted built-up system Modified roofing system Rigid pre-formed roofing system Single ply sheet membrane roofing system Hot Work- Heat welding, open flames and sparks Repairs and retrofit
Certificates, Licenses, Memberships, and Courses:

Red Seal Roofer Ticket considered an asset Fall Protection Certificate an asset Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate First Aid (Level 1 and Level 3 an asset) Safety Training Course
Skills:

Proven experience as a torch on roofer or in a related roofing role Strong knowledge of roofing materials, installation techniques, and safety procedures Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions Physical fitness and strength to handle roofing materials and equipment Strong attention to detail and accuracy in torch on roofing installation Good communication and teamwork skills Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to roofing Sound knowledge and operation of hand power tools, tampers, measuring equipment and instruments Sound knowledge of safe work procedures
