Tool & Die Maker ODC Tooling & Molds is a well-established company that has been evolving for 100 years to excel as a world-class leader in designing and manufacturing custom tooling and engineered cutting dies. The successful candidate will be joining our team at our newly built facility in North Waterloo. Job Role: The Tool & Die Maker is responsible for building Molds and Trim tools primarily used in the Automotive industry. The Tool & Die Maker is responsible for manual machining and grinding of components, using various materials and manual machines, as well as assembly, testing and troubleshooting tools in a fast pace environment. Responsibilities:

• Build or modify new and existing molds and trim tools
• Troubleshoot, repair and test new and existing tools as required
• Utilize drawings for manufacturing components and assembly of tools
• Operate various manual machines, including lathe, milling machines and surface grinders
• Lead projects during the manufacturing process
• Maintains a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace
• Inspects completed tools and dies for signs of imperfection or damage that may affect functionality
• Reads and understands blueprints and complicated schematics as required to create and build new fixtures, tools, and machine parts
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Tool and Die Maker certification or equivalent
• Minimum of 3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in manufacturing molds and trim tools
• Operating knowledge of all manual machines
• Ability to manufacture components to 0.0002\xe2\x80\x9d tolerances when required
• Ability to read/interpret drawings, specifications and tolerances accurately
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work as a team member and individually with minimum supervision
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Must have own tools
• Must have a valid passport and driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and be willing to travel to US and Mexico when required.
• Experience building custom automated machines is considered an asset
• Experience with Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems is considered an asset
