Job Description

Position Summary



The Tire and Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine automotive maintenance and basic repairs with a focus on oil changes, tire services, fluid top-offs, and preventative maintenance. This role ensures vehicles are serviced efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities



Perform oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-offs according to manufacturer and store guidelines. Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires with accuracy and care. Conduct multi-point inspections and notify supervisors of any additional needed repairs or services. Check and replace wiper blades, air filters, cabin filters, and light bulbs as required. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the service bay and shop area. Adhere to safety procedures when operating lifts, tools, and equipment. Accurately record services performed and maintain proper documentation. Assist with stocking inventory, organizing tools, and maintaining service equipment. Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with customers and team members.

Qualifications



Education & Experience



High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Prior experience in automotive maintenance or a related field (an asset but not always required). Basic mechanical knowledge of automobiles, tires, and lubrication services.

Skills & Competencies



Ability to operate automotive lifts, tire machines, and other shop tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods. Good communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn and grow within the automotive service industry.

Working Conditions



Fast-paced automotive service environment. Exposure to automotive fluids, chemicals, and equipment. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
