Minimum 4+ years of hands-on timber framing / heavy timber experience
(post & beam, mortise & tenon, traditional joinery)
Proven ability to
read and interpret timber framing plans
Experience using
timber framing cutting and carving tools
Physically capable of
lifting and maneuvering timbers 75+ lbs
Comfortable and confident
working at heights up to three stories
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Able to commute to shop in
Innisfail, Alberta
and local job sites

Top Peg Timber Frame Construction is seeking an experienced
Timber Framer / Operations Lead
to support both hands-on framing and day-to-day shop coordination.
This is a
working leadership role
-- ideal for someone who wants to stay on the tools while helping guide workflow, crew efficiency, and shop readiness.

Key Responsibilities
Cut, layout, and assemble custom timber frames
Lead complex builds and mentor junior crew members
Coordinate daily shop workflow and priorities
Support safety, organization, and quality standards
Assist the owner with project timelines and resource planning
Maintain strong communication and professionalism
Uphold company policies and industry best practices
What We're Looking For
4+ years
timber framing / heavy wood construction experience
Strong joinery and layout skills
Natural lead-hand ability or prior leadership experience
Reliable, organized, and safety-focused
Professional attitude and strong work ethic

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
