Overview

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for installing tiles on various surfaces to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of spaces. Compensation will be based on your level of experience. Work location depends on the project, varying daily or weekly. All projects are located within Ontario, typically in the Greater Toronto Area.

Duties

- Lay tiles on floors, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces according to design plans
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning and leveling them before tile installation
- Cut tiles to fit around obstacles and create intricate patterns
- Mix and apply grout, sealants, and adhesives to secure tiles in place
- Inspect and repair damaged tiles as needed
- Work with various hand tools such as tile cutters, trowels, and levels
- Perform caulking to ensure a watertight seal in wet areas

Skills

- Proficiency in tile laying techniques and methods
- Experience in construction or related fields like carpentry or flooring installation
- Ability to read and understand blueprints for accurate tile placement
- Familiarity with using hand tools essential for tile setting work
- Strong attention to detail and precision to achieve high-quality results
- Knowledge of different types of tiles, adhesives, grouts, and sealants
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address challenges during installations

Qualifications

Minimum

3 years of tile installation experience

is required Proficiency in using hand tools required for installing tiles Demonstrated expertise in tile laying and flooring installation Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately Carpentry skills and experience Knowledge of caulking techniques Previous handyman experience is a plus
