Job Overview:



The Weekend Thrift Store Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store during weekend shifts {8:30am-4:30pm}. This role includes managing the store's team of staff and volunteers, ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers, and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the store. The Supervisor will ensure that all store policies and procedures are followed and assist in achieving sales goals and maintaining inventory.

Key Responsibilities:



Staff Supervision & Leadership:

Supervise and lead weekend staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and friendly service. Delegate tasks and manage the workflow to ensure smooth store operations.

Customer Service:

Ensure that all customers receive outstanding service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. Assist customers with finding items, and processing transactions at the register.

Sales & Inventory Management:

Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet or exceed weekend sales goals. Assist in the processing, pricing, restocking and organizing of donated goods, ensuring the sales floor is well-stocked and neatly presented. Ensure that items are priced correctly and are in accordance with store guidelines. Oversee the process of sorting, tagging, and displaying new inventory.

Store Maintenance & Organization:

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shopping environment, including tidying displays, ensuring aisles are clear, and managing waste disposal and/or recycling. Oversee the general condition of the store, including the maintenance of donation areas.

Training & Development:

Train and mentor new staff and volunteers, ensuring they understand store policies, procedures, and customer service standards. Provide feedback and coaching to staff and volunteers to improve their performance and skill sets.

Operational Tasks:

Ensure all cash register transactions are accurate, including processing sales, returns, and exchanges. Maintain accurate records of daily sales, donations, and inventory. Follow opening and/or closing procedures, ensuring security protocols are followed.

Other Duties:

Assist the Store Manager with any special projects or tasks as needed. Report any issues or concerns to the Store Manager and collaborate on solutions.

Qualifications:



Previous 2 years in retail supervisor role, preferably in a thrift store. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide exceptional customer service and handle various situations with professionalism. Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing inventory. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must work weekends (Saturday and Sunday), with the possibility of additional shifts. A passion for sustainable fashion, community outreach, or charitable work is a plus.

Physical Requirements:



Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20lbs. Ability to bend, squat, and move inventory as needed.
