Thermal Design Engineer
to join our Engineering team and play a key role in advancing thermal design excellence for critical industrial applications.
This is a senior role that blends deep technical expertise with leadership, ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives on problem-solving, mentoring, and driving innovation in heat transfer design.
What You'll Do
As a Thermal Design Engineer, you will:
Lead
thermal and mechanical design
of air coolers, shell & tube heat exchangers, waste heat boilers, and sulfur condensers.
Perform
thermal and vibration analyses
, ensuring compliance with codes and client specifications.
Review, check, and approve engineering work--providing
technical leadership
and mentorship to junior engineers.
Support proposals by preparing engineering design packages, calculations, and technical input during bid stages.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Business Development) to align solutions with project and client goals.
Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions.
Stamp/sign deliverables as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
Drive
continuous improvement
by enhancing processes, leveraging digital tools, and embedding energy efficiency and sustainability in design.
What You Bring
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
10-15 years' experience in a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment.
Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
Proficiency with
HTRI software
and proven expertise in thermal analysis & vibration.
Strong knowledge of pressure vessel design codes (ASME, API, ABSA).
Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Assets
Active
P.Eng.
designation.
Structural engineering experience.
