Responsibilities:
Provide counselling/therapy sessions to clients, ensuring a client-centered approach that respects each person's unique healing journey.
Use trauma-informed techniques to help clients process and integrate traumatic memories, alleviating symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other trauma-related issues.
Work collaboratively with other therapists and team members to provide holistic care that meets the needs of each client.
Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
Participate in team meetings and case consultations to ensure a cohesive approach to client care.
Demonstrate cultural humility and empathy in all interactions with clients, fostering a space where they feel understood and supported.
Promote a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, heard, and empowered.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in
Social Work (MSW)
,
Psychology (M.A., M.S., PhD)
, or a related field.
Must be a current member of one of the following professional orders
Ordre des travailleurs sociaux du Quebec (OTSTQ)
for social workers, or
Ordre des psychologues du Quebec (OPQ)
for psychologists or psychotherapists.
Demonstrated experience and comfort with trauma-informed care, including an understanding of how trauma impacts the body and mind.
Trained in at least one of the following: Somatic therapy, IFS, EMDR, EFT tapping
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect empathetically and effectively with diverse clients.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Previous experience working with clients in a therapeutic or counselling role is preferred.
