Duties and Responsibilities:
Durham College\xe2\x80\x99s Test Centre offers a secure, comfortable and modern test writing environment to both Durham College students and those persons writing exams or assessments for another post-secondary institution. Invigilators oversee the writing of assessments for the Test Centre, ensuring the academic integrity of this process. Test-writing clients may include college students, apprentices, or external persons pursuing post-secondary credentials at other institutions. Invigilators will be available to proctor or invigilate assessments both in-person at either of the Whitby or Oshawa campuses, and virtually through video conferencing. In-person invigilation duties include such tasks as preparing testing rooms in advance, checking students in, verifying student identification and ensuring a quiet and orderly physical environment. Virtual invigilation duties include such tasks as ensuring software is in working order, arranging virtual check-in for students and trouble-shooting/escalating technical issues.
Whether in-person or virtual, Invigilators may provide one-on-one support to students registered with the Access and Support Centre by reading and clarifying questions or scribing student responses. Maintaining privacy, managing time and communicating Test Centre rules to students are critical functions regardless of how an invigilation is provided.
QUALIFICATIONS: * Post-secondary education is required, preferably in an education-related field.
