Position Summary
McGill's Desautels Faculty of Management invites applications for one open-rank (i.e., Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) tenure-track position in the Finance Area. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026. The position is open to candidates with a Ph.D in Finance, Economics, or a related field as well as to applicants demonstrating outstanding potential who are doctoral students in those fields and plan to have completed the requirements for their Ph.D. by December 2026. The position is open to candidates in any area of specialization within finance with a preference for candidates whose research interests are in Asset Pricing / Investments and/or whose research interests relate to the faculty priority areas of Innovation, Analytics, AI & Advanced Digital Technologies, Sustainability, or Equity, Diversity & Inclusion.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to advance a cutting-edge, compelling, and impactful research agenda. The ideal candidate will have evidence of effective teaching, an experience-appropriate record of research, and clear promise of conducting innovative and important research publishable in the top finance journals such as those listed on the Desautels 22. Successful candidates are also expected to work actively with doctoral students, to teach in our undergraduate and graduate programs, and contribute to the administration of the Area and Faculty. McGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing; but knowledge of French or a willingness to learn French is desirable.
