SUMMARY:




PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION:





To assist the Climbing Arborist in the Management of vegetation maintenance operations and tree trimming activities as related to the Six Nations Public Works Departments within the policies and procedures established by the Six Nations of the Grand River for the Public Works Department.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:




Post-secondary Degree in Business Administration, Social Work or related field with 1 year related experience.

OR



College Diploma Business Administration, Social Services or related field or with 2 years related experience.


Advanced knowledge and computer skills in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with tact, diplomacy, and discretion Must demonstrate high level of initiative, self-direction, and ability to work independently Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, analyze, conceptualize, and assign tasks Must be bondable

POSITION DESCRIPTION




POSITION TITLE: Tenant Relations Case Manager




Reporting Relationship:





Reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Six Nations of the Grand River Housing Department Property Manager


Purpose & Scope of the Position:





To assist the Property Manager, the Senior Manager of Housing and the Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council in the performance of their statutory, administrative duties related to Six Nations Housing within the policies and procedures established by Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council, Six Nations Housing, and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) for Section 95 buildings.



To assist the Property Manager and the Senior Manager of Housing in the provision of culturally appropriate community engagement and life skills training programming.


Duties and Responsibilities:




Technical




Ensure lease compliance by tenants. Prepare schedule and conduct inspections of units including reporting. Conduct tenant meetings at regular intervals including follow-up reports. Communicate work order requests for approved from tenants to the Property Manager. Prepare lease contravention letters for the tenants when required and arrange follow-up inspection visits. Communicate with utility companies. (hydro, natural gas, etc.) when there is a change in tenancy Recommends and implements culturally appropriate programming for tenants (social and/or life skills focused) Fill in as Acting Property Manager of Housing when Property Manager is out of the office (for leaves and vacations).

Administrative




Maintain a waiting list of all commercial and residential rental applications. Prepare commercial/residential leases, lease renewals, and review with tenants their rights and responsibilities. Participate in Move In and Move Out inspections. Prepare and forward request to tenant for payment of repairs carried out by Maintenance staff, which are deemed to be the responsibility of the tenant. Identify and attend staff training opportunities.

Communication




Keep tenants informed of any constructionrepair work scheduled for facilities. Support the tenant chairs of the senior complexes, attend regular tenant meetings and provide liaison between the tenant meetings and Housing management Contact prospective tenants and arrange for viewings. Respond to complaints, inquiries received from tenants. Assist tenants with referrals to external agencies (i.e. Ontario Works (OW), Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), etc.) to inquire about services (direct deposit for rent, revised payment arrangements and arears assistance). Advocates for and provides guidance and support to tenants. Maintains documentation of tenant related functions (notices, inspections, transfer requests, contravention letters etc.)

Other Functions




Occasional front reception desk support . Related duties as may be required by the Senior Manager of Housing.

Work requires sound management and public relations skills; must exercise initiative and good judgment, ability to work independently; interact with diplomacy and tact; must maintain confidentiality and act in the best interests of Six Nations of the Grand River; ability to assign, direct, and prioritize tasks for efficient and effective functioning of personnel; subject to deadlines and frequent interruptions.


Working Relationships:




With the Property Manager:





Receives direction guidance and encouragement; discusses plans and priorities; provides technical information, advice and analysis; co-operative working relationship to maintain up?to?date information being provided on the various operations within the property management department.


With the Senior Manager of Housing:





Receives direction guidance and encouragement; discusses plans and priorities; provides technical information, advice, and analysis; co-operative working relationship to maintain up?to?date information being provided on the various operations within the housing department


With Other Staff:





Courtesy, cooperation, and teamwork with all staff to improve services provided.


With the Public:





Represents and promotes Six Nations Housing in a courteous, positive, and co?operative manner, provides information, direction and assistance.


Knowledge and Skills:





Minimum Requirements
