Overview

We are looking for a skilled

Tempura Cook

to join our kitchen team. The Tempura Cook is responsible for preparing and frying tempura dishes with precision and consistency, ensuring a crispy, light texture while maintaining high-quality presentation and taste. This role requires knowledge of batter preparation, frying techniques, and proper handling of seafood, vegetables, and other tempura ingredients.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and experienced in working in a fast-paced kitchen environment with a strong focus on food safety.

Duties

Prepare and fry various tempura items, including seafood, vegetables, and other specialty ingredients Mix and maintain tempura batter for optimal texture and consistency Monitor oil temperature and frying times to ensure perfect cooking and prevent overcooking or burning Maintain cleanliness and organization of the frying station and equipment Properly store and handle tempura ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality Assist with kitchen prep work and support other cooks as needed Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely delivery of tempura dishes Manage inventory related to frying ingredients and supplies, reporting low stock to management

Requirement

Proven experience as a tempura cook or in frying techniques in a professional kitchen Knowledge of tempura batter preparation and frying temperature control Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards Good physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays Team player with good communication skills Food handler certification preferred or required depending on local regulations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
