Lawson Health Research Institute (Lawson) is the research institute of London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph\xe2\x80\x99s Health Care London. As one of Canada\xe2\x80\x99s top ten research institutes, we are committed to furthering scientific knowledge to advance health care around the world. The Research Assistant will be part of the Critical Care Research Group working under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Site Research Coordinator. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; assisting with the conduct of clinical research studies and clinical trials, screening and recruitment of study participants, obtaining informed consent, maintaining study logs, data abstraction and CRF completions, data collection from study participants and transporting of study participant samples. Rate of pay: To commensurate with experience Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week Duration: 12 months (leave of absence coverage)
Qualifications
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in health sciences or related field
SOCRA or ACRP certified, an asset
One-year of recent related experience; preferably in a clinical research environment
Experience with screening patients for randomized blinded drug trials or device trials
Experience with Cerner PowerChart an asset
Ability to communicate with families who are experiencing stressful or emotional circumstances
Ability to communicate precisely with the treating team
Experience with REDCap and other electronic data capture formats
Ability to prioritize workload with attention to detail
Proven flexibility with a high level of initiative and self-direction
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Committed to ongoing learning
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements:
Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
