POSITION OVERVIEW
The shipper works with the other members of the shipping team, transportation, and production to ensure the finished product is organized, stored, and shipped as efficiently as possible.

KILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Previous warehouse experience in storage and rotation of supplies and flow of production preferred
Forklift and/or pallet jack operator certification required
Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision
Able to adapt to changes and open to learning new ways to get things done more efficiently and effectively
Able to work in a fast-paced environment, thinking and reacting quickly, and making fast yet accurate decisions
Basic knowledge of computer and able to learn in-house systems
Able to communicate and work well with others as part of a team, demonstrating politeness, respect, and courtesy in communication and daily interactions
Must be able to provide clear, concise general instructions for team effectiveness and productivity
Able to solve problems based on individual judgement and work experience. Many decisions are made independently, but some may require the assistance of the Shipping Supervisor to resolve
Able to lift 50 lbs
RESPONSIBILITIES
General
Safely operate mobile equipment to complete tasks
Load trailers with customer orders accurately and on time
Unload product and materials off trailers and put incoming shipments away
Load trailers with baskets, racks, and other materials to return to customer
Move full pallets into finished goods area of warehouse when Stackers need assistance
Receive, wrap, and put stock into inventory
Record monthly inventory counts
Report any known workplace hazard to your supervisor
Ensure all food safety issues are communicated with plant SQF/HACCP Coordinator
Bring forth innovative ideas and suggestions to improve production and/or the work environment
Ensure daily records (health and safety, HACCP, quality, mobile equipment prechecks) are completed
Document and report any maintenance concerns including broken or defective equipment or racking
Ensure the workplace remains clean, tidy, and free of hazards
Assist co-workers where and when required
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Order Picker
Prepare each day by restocking and pulling down heavy product
Foster open communication within the department communicating any shortages
Use of RF scanners in all operations
Safe operation of mobile equipment and handling of product
Keep work areas clean, tidy, and free from hazards
Pick and compile egg orders in a timely and organized manner
Load and unload trailers using mobile equipment (power jack) following safe work practices and proper strapping procedures
Complete loading paperwork (trailer numbers, reefer checks, trailer condition, etc.)
Complete daily mobile equipment prechecks and practice appropriate battery charging techniques
Complete month end and yearend inventory counts
Dock Worker
Facilitate service needs with outside carriers (Clark pickups, customer pickups, import loads)
Unload, organize, and store supplies from trailers (baskets, pallets, racks, etc.)
Manage surplus:
+ Constant knowledge of surplus inventory in the cooler
+ Separation of "cracks" and "organic"
+ Maintain inventory of tags
+ Pre-tag skids when necessary Assist loading finished product (Atlas, GFS, Sysco, etc.), ensuring paperwork in completed in a timely manner
Ensure all returns are documented and reported accordingly
Organize the liquid cooler
Wrap Costco pallets to assist Order Pickers and Loaders as needed
