Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers, in partnership with the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), is offering a dynamic internship opportunity for a Marketing and Public Awareness Intern. This temporary role is ideal for a creative, community-minded individual eager to launch their career in marketing while making a meaningful impact. The successful candidate will help build sustainable outreach strategies and communications infrastructure that amplify our mission and programs. To be eligible, applicants must be 18 years of age or older, legally entitled to work in Canada, and reside in the Northern Ontario community where they are employed. Candidates must be new entrants into the workforce, transitioning to a new career, or unemployed/underemployed individuals entering a new field. This must be their first full-time employment in marketing and they must not have previously participated in an NOHFC-funded internship under the 2020 mandate.
Duties
Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies to support organizational awareness and community engagement
Create and manage content across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), newsletters, and website updates
Write press releases and support media outreach to boost public visibility
Maintain branding consistency across all digital and print communication channels
Coordinate production of promotional materials (brochures, flyers, videos)
Gather and share compelling impact stories and testimonials from program staff
Monitor engagement metrics and recommend adjustments for campaign optimization
Support scheduling and planning of public awareness activities and meetings
Attend monthly board meetings and assist with reporting and media monitoring
Collaborate with stakeholders and community partners to maximize outreach efforts
Qualifications
Graduated within the last three years from an accredited University or College with a degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
This must be the candidate's first full-time employment in the marketing field
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Must complete a police/intelligence background check
Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
Knowledge of not-for-profit is considered an asset
Experience with social media analytics is a plus.
Strong research skills with the ability to analyze data effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
