POSITION SUMMARY



Ontario Shores is currently seeking a Registered Nurse, reporting to the Clinical Manager for the Traumatic Stress Clinic, (TSC), within the Integrated Community Access Program, (ICAP), out-patient service area. The successful candidate will be a clinician with sound knowledge of clinical work in the area of mental health and addiction issues in the area of treating trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).



Responsibilities include: psychosocial assessment and consultation; individual psychotherapy; group psychotherapy; psycho-education; liaison with community resources; collaboration with all team member; active involvement as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Client service will be through traditional in person methodology as well as in a virtual environment using Telemedicine.





QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AND PREFERRED


Registered with the College of Registered Nurses in good standing
+ Current CPR-HCP is required
+ Completion of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) training preferred
+ Certification or current enrollment in Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) preferred
+ Certification and competency in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) preferred
+ Demonstrated knowledge of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery
+ Experience working with Public Safety Personnel is preferred
+ 3-5 years psychiatric experience in a mental health facility or service preferred
+ Application of and experience with evidence-based manualized treatment modalities, specifically CBT, CPT and IPT
+ Demonstrated knowledge of the regulatory College standards of practice
+ Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health, and relevant policies and legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and PHIPA is required
+ Knowledge and experience of the challenges involved in community reintegration of short and longer stay psychiatric inpatients
+ Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
+ Demonstrated competence in individual, group and family therapy and crisis intervention skills
+ Knowledge of psychotherapy in a clinic format is essential
+ Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and effective oral/written communication skills
+ The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds and proficiency in a second language would be considered an asset
+ Ability to perform the physical demands of the position
+ Variable hours may be required due to patient demand
