ROLE

Reporting to the Chef, the Kitchen & Dining Room Aide assists the cooks with meal and salad bar preparation, service to the residents, dining room set-up/clean-up, and kitchen clean-up. As a member of the Leduc Regional Housing Foundation team, the Kitchen & Dining Room Aide ensures that a high standard of services is provided to the residents.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Food Service training in the institutional/hospitality industries.

2. Knowledge of proper food handling practices - Food Handler's Certificate preferred.

3. W.H.M.I.S. Training.

4. Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal is required.

5. Strong customer service skill including the ability to interact with everyone in a respectful manner.

6. Ability to work independently, as well as a team.

7. Ability to work a flexible schedule (evenings and weekends).

8. Satisfactory Criminal Records Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.

9. Experience working with and meeting the needs of seniors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist with the preparation of meals and snacks as directed by the Chef or designate

2. Assist with the service of meals to the residents in a dining room environment.

3. Clear tables and tidy the dining room and kitchen.

4. Wash dishes, pots and pans.

5. Report to the Chef or designate any extraordinary circumstances which may create an emergency situation (i.e., a resident's absence from meals, faulty equipment, etc.).

6. Promote Health & Safety awareness:

participate in all aspects of the Health & Safety Program.

perform hazard assessments and use safe work practices.

report any injury, near miss, unsafe condition or unsafe act to your supervisor immediately.

make safety suggestions.

set a good example.

7. Other duties as assigned.

All employees will be required to have a pre-employment fit to work assessment, a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector check.
