What you'll do:


This temporary Co-op position offers an opportunity to work closely with the People & Culture team and contribute to the various Human Resources functions. The role is designed to provide you with practice exposure to Human Resources operations, processes, programs, and initiatives. You will assist in supporting our employees and enhancing the overall employee experience.


Key Responsibilities:


o Coordinate recruitment activities including career bulletins, external advertising, recruitment events, student work placements, and administer the Employee Referral Program.


o Support new hire onboarding by preparing welcome packages, leading pre-boarding, and coordinating orientation sessions, plus assist with front-line due diligence and exit interviews.


o Manage HR administrative tasks such as processing certifications, learning completion reporting, voluntary resignations/retirements, swipe card access, and basic payroll coverage support.


o Assist the Health & Safety Advisor with toolbox talks, safety board content, and maintaining key safety-related lists and training registrations.


o Support employee recognition programs including Commitment to Values and Quarterly Legendary Guest Service Awards, and handle ordering of supplies and EFAP coordination.

Currently enrolled in an accredited Post Secondary Human Resources Co-operative work experience program for the 2026 term. Must be available for Monday - Friday 8 - 5 work days and willing to relocate to the Battlefords. Detail oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Valid Saskatchewan driver's license. Basic understanding of HR principles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality. You're honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do. You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
