Position Description:
The Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Assistant is responsible for helping TFW Coordinator provide ongoing support and translation for the temporary foreign workers, including appointments outside the workplace, during the busy season, July to October. The role will also assist the Human Resources department with related administrative tasks, events planning, and other duties as assigned.
Main Responsibilities:
Assist Temporary Foreign Worker Coordinator with providing communication and support to Guest Workers
Accompany foreign workers to appointments and ensure all the legal and administrative documents are completed
Translate from English to Spanish and vice versa, an array of materials (publications, communications, presentations, reports, etc.) in the areas of payroll, training, and human resources management
Accompany foreign workers to appointments medicals or hospitals and complete the required medical forms, acting as liaison officer and interpreter
Respect and ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety and all company policies and procedures
Attend facility meetings with TFWs and pass on relevant information to the appropriate persons (complaints, concerns, request for repair, breakage, etc.)
Participate in organizing the company's events
Assist with various administrative tasks in the office (scanning, printing, etc)

Knowledge and skills sought
Education, training, or experience in administration or human resources is an asset
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
Valid BC Driver's license
Flexibility (be available during all shifts, outside normal working hours, and on weekends)
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (word, excel, outlook)
Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to details
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive issues
