Milk River Ridge is situated in the town of Milk River, Alberta. Milk River has a population of approximately 890 people but draws students from the rural communities surrounding it. Our student population of 200 from Early Learning to Grade 12 with approximately 23 staff.

Temporary Educational Assistant -

approx. 20 hours/week

Hours of work-

Wednesday 8:15 a.m. - 3:45 p.m., Thursday 8:25 a.m. - 3:25 p.m.,


Friday 8:25 a.m. 12:05 p.m.


Milk River Ridge School is seeking a positive, energetic, and patient individual who understands the importance of learning through play. The successful candidate will enjoy working with young children and possess the patience and aptitude to engage with students of varying complexities. He/She will also contribute to the collaborative atmosphere, not only of the program, but of our school as a whole.


This assignment will commence

August 26, 2025,

and conclude

June 18, 2026,

or upon the return of the incumbent, whichever should occur first.

As part of the Milk River Ridge School team, support staff will be required to:



Assist the students with the completion of coursework and assignments.


Help each student participate and succeed.


Work with teachers to keep students on task and focused on their work.


Help students with hygiene and toileting habits.


Work with OT, PT, and SLP to implement strategies for student success.


Work with teachers and the LST to implement individualized strategies from ISPs and behaviour plans.


Supporting student with complex needs.


Help students use their self-regulation strategies.


Take part in professional development.


Build relationships with co-workers, student's families, and community service providers.
