Job Summary

This Position is a temporary support position for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The hours for this position are provided by the CVCDA and may vary. The ideal candidate would build caring and respectful relationships with children, staff, and families; assist in the development and implementation of an outstanding early care and learning program based on the emerging interests and passions within the group; maintain a clean and safe environment that meets licensing regulations; engage in additional responsibilities as defined in the .

Responsibilities

- Support coverage.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum
- Provide a safe and supportive learning environment for children
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress
- Utilize various teaching methods to engage students in learning activities
- Foster social, emotional, and cognitive development in young children
- Manage classroom activities and ensure a structured daily routine

Requirements

-ECE Certificate (required) with License to Practice (preferred).

-Current First Aid; Doctor's Note; Criminal Record Check; Immunization Record; Three Reference Letters; Familiarity with BC Early Learning Framework. Effective Oral and Written Communication (including documentation) Skills. Ability to Work Collaboratively with Others.

-Previous experience working in an early care and learning program is preferred.
- Proficient in English with excellent writing skills
- Childcare experience is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting
- Excellent time management skills to organize lessons and activities efficiently

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: $21.65-$26.65 per hour
